This review for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is going to be a bit different, as there is no way to accurately describe the movie experience without SPOILING the whole darn thing. All we can say is this:
- It’s a 2 part movie. You’re only seeing half.
- It’s so full of characters that it moves fast, so be ready for visual overload…
- It’s over 2.5 hours long.
- The stakes are high.
- It’s #Marvel‘s highest cinematic achievement, and that is saying something after ‘Black Panther’.
- Don’t listen to anyone’s negativity. It’s understandable, but this is a comic book movie, so if you know the source material, you’ll be…. ok. Probably. More than likely.
With all that said, the Russo brothers have done something on par with Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. They’ve taken a complex and multi-layered source material (book) and delivered a truly intense, emotional and thrilling cinema experience. And the best part is, it’s not over yet! Part 2 releases next year, and it’s good to feel these feelings of anticipation, which quite honestly I haven’t felt since being a kid in a galaxy far, far away. So, sit back. Watch it. Feel all the feels. I’m telling you, I trust Marvel Studio’s ability to take it all the way, and right now they’re only halfway there. You should trust them too. It’s a faith well placed, and the entire decade of their movies up to this point weren’t just an achievement, they were practice. Infinity War is the next level up.
