Previously on Rick and Morty we ended season 3 on October 1st 2017, with the minor but iconic character Mr. Poopybutthole featuring on a post-credit scene comically telling the audience season 4 would be awhile.
Well here we are, 2 entire years later, an exciting trailer for Rick and Morty season 4 was officially released by Adult Swim.
Approximately being 2 minutes long, from what we can observe the season 4 trailer doesn’t particularly seem to foreshadow the future plot much, only touching the surface to hype us up for the upcoming season.
In the trailer we see the show back in action with pop culture references, one-liners, and all the dark humor we know and love. Along with the thrill of joining Rick and Morty once again on their crazy sci fi adventures fans are also psyched for the reappearance of Mr. Meeseeks and Mr. Poopybutthole.
Though fantasy isn’t out of element in the realm of pop culture and general “Rick and Morty material” it’s one of the newer and noticeable aspects portrayed in season 4’s preview with Morty acquiring a dragon and Rick using “magic”. I suspect this added classic fantasy flavor can be accredited to Dan Harmon, one of the shows main writers, due to his history and love for DnD/Pathfinder.
Whether or not any brewing fan theories will come to fruition one thing you can be certain about season 4 Rick and Morty is its release date on November 10th on Adult Swim and that the show is undoubtedly going to be worth the wait.
