The first two issues of Trees: Three Fates, follows the mystery of a murder in a small town in Russia. The story starts 11 years ago when the “trees” fell to the earth. The stories lead is Klara, the officer trying to solve the murder. Sasha, who is assumed to be klaras boyfriend, is killed by the Trees while they are having an argument and one lands on him. These trees are actually giant poles that just mysteriously appeared one day and haven’t moved since. Although the “trees” are a big enough mystery in itself, the story does still focus mainly on the murder. An unknown man has appeared dead next to one of the “trees”. No one has ever seen the man come into town or seen the man before in general. Klara goes around town asking the town’s residents about the man as cell service gets worse and worse and electricity starts to go out. We find that the old woman at thee train station is controlling everything and having someone cut down cell towers had the same man kill the mystery man. Klara doesn’t find any of this out yet and we watch her continue to attempt to solve the mystery as the old woman and her henchman in the background, continuously make the process harder and harder. Trees: Three Fates is an intriguing story about mysterious pillars from space and unsolved murders, if that interests you, you should definitely read issues #1 and #2 and look forward to the release, Nov 3rd 2019.
