Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) has previously stated that the comic universe is his go-to source for all things Venom, so let’s hope that Hollywood film makers don’t think they have to re-invent the wheel. The movie looks to be derived from the six-issue Venom: Lethal Protector comic. In it we were introduced to other symbiote spawn Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony. If you watch the trailer closely you’ll see that there are MULTIPLE humans interacting with multiple symbiotes, so we should see some amazing action sequences with San Francisco in the background as Venom does battle with this yet to be revealed team. Put the right script in front of the amazing Tom Hardy and we should have the franchise that fans have been waiting for.
Venom is set to be released on October 5, 2018, so expect a LOT of Venom costumes at your door asking for candy this Halloween.
